What is FIRST?
What is FIRST?
FIRST is an acronym for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. There are four different programs in FIRST. First there is Jr.FLL, which is FLL, FIRST Lego League, but for K-3rd grade. The next level up is FLL (The program we're focusing on,) is 4-8th grade. Then there is 9-12th grade, which is high school level. There are two programs, FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) and FRC (FIRST Robotics Challenge). In FIRST you build, design and program your own robots. Also, Jr.FLL is string pull robots, and FLL is using MINDSTORMS, witch is created by LEGO. FTC and FRC are building robots basically from scrap. FIRST allows you to use your creativity, in making posters, designing robots, designing team shirts and much more. You get a kit, and look online for the mission, and every year it is different. This year, a new challenge awaits!
